Impact of Bank Stabilization Structures on Upstream and Downstream Bank Mobilization at Cedar River, Nebraska

چکیده
Highlights Stabilization structures are only effective at stabilized segments. Erosion increased in two of the six segments post-stabilization period. Deposition decreased all Jetties reducing erosion but also prone to fail. Abstract . The effectiveness streambank stabilization is insufficiently quantified. Although such clearly reduce or eliminate local scale, little known about associated effects on unstabilized reaches immediately upstream and downstream. This study measured deposition stretches Cedar River, 1.5 meander wavelengths downstream from 24 that included jetties, rock vanes, root wads, gravel protection. We streambanks directly opposite locations. compared measurements pre-stabilization period (1993-2005) with those (2005-2018) using historical imagery ArcGIS. Upon completion this analysis, we were able reject an initial hypothesis adjacent segment rates would be significantly less after stabilization, greater locations stream Instead, differences pre- showed no statistical significance. Rather, our data indicated four was predominantly confined segment. Overall bank stabilization. In where wooden jetties installed, partial total failure common, further increases decreases more pronounced. conclude River location installation; there measurable effect reaches. Our results demonstrate need for improved monitoring practices better understanding how impacts entire river system. Such advances will enhance restoration design implementation, as well support future management efforts. Keywords: Adjacent reach, Deposition, Jetty, Erosion, Streambank

On Multirate Filter Bank Structures
We introduce a framework for treating multirate filter banks for signal and image processing applications, as well as communication applications, in a unified way. We show how methods from group and ring theory can be applied to derive structural properties of filter banks.
متن کاملExperimental Investigation of Groin Placement On Minimizing River Bank Erosion
River banks are exposed to bank erosion and destruction. One of the river engineering goals is to provide human life requirements and reduce river danger. So spreading extent of this phenomenon, whose risk and other important factors must be recognized. Using groins is one of the control ways that by accurate design and accurate performance, bank erosion control and field reclamation would be p...

In this study, the spatial and temporal variability of water quality including monthly series of TDS, EC, So4, Cl, Ca and Na in common statistical period 1993-2014 was evaluated for the Karun River. This assessment is based on qualitative data stations including Susan in the upstream of Gotvand reservoir, Gotvand, Mollasani and Ahvaz in the downstream. To determine the parameters trend process,...
متن کاملThe Impact of Liquidity on Iranian Bank Profitability
This paper analyzes the impact of liquid asset holdings on bank profitability for a sample of Iranian banks. Using the Generalized Method of Moment (GMM), this study analyzes the profitability of listed banks using unbalanced panel data over the period of 2002-2009. We use the liquidity asset and liquidity asset-ratio square for estimating liquid asset and profitability relationship. The e...
